Takashima D-13 1.5mm Titanium Chassis for Tamiya TRF421X

Notify Me

Takashima D-13 has expanded its chassis range for the Tamiya TRF421X 1:10 electric touring car with a new 1.5mm titanium chassis, a lightweight alternative to the conventional steel chassis.

Made from high-strength titanium, the chassis weighs approximately 117g, significantly lighter than the standard steel chassis. That makes it ideal for Blinky-class racers looking to get closer to minimum weight while running larger battery packs for more available power.

It also offers potential gains in Modified racing: testing has shown improved corner speed and increased forward traction, giving a different handling balance to the heavier steel chassis.

SKU Thickness Weight
TKSM-241 1.5mm approx. 117g

The titanium chassis DOES NOT include screws. It requires 120-degree countersunk M3 flat-head screws. Recommended: Takashima D-13 Torx T7 120-Degree Screw Set for Tamiya TRF421X (TKSM-210).

Because the chassis is only 1.5mm thick, it cannot be installed with traditional 90-degree countersunk screws. Using non-120-degree screws will enlarge the holes and permanently damage the plate.

Although you may find this type of screw on the market, we strongly recommend using Takashima D-13 factory-custom screws for the best installation results:

  1. Each screw specification is made from its own independent mould. The precision surpasses mass-produced screws of the same size, so once installed the screw head sits perfectly flush with no protrusion, preventing deformation of the plate.
  2. Carbon steel with a silver-coated surface and a 12.9 strength rating. Recommended tightening torque for all M3 screws is 0.8 N·m for longer service life and better resistance to frequent assembly and disassembly.
  3. The driver recess depth has been specially adjusted so it is deep enough for secure tightening, reducing the chance of stripping.
